Exchange of siblings

Ian is much older now and as expected, both boys "quarrel"and "fight" over the slightest issues very frequently. In the past, Ian was younger and it was always big bully small.

I remember in the past I bought both a packet of twisties. Ryan finished his packet while Ian has a lot more to go. Ryan wanted more and "offered" to hold the packet for his little brother.

Ryan: I hold for you only!
Ian: Ok

Of course, Ryan will start eating Ian's twisties. Now that Ian is older, no way man! He can hold himself!

I like to watch from the side when they "quarrel". You can tell their characters from the way they argue. Sometimes, they have no valid case and it's funny how they can bulldoze their way to get what they want from the other party. The one with the valid case actually gave in. To be fair, they take turns to be "unreasonable'.

Last night, I bought 2 mango pudding for them. I "lied" that I will eat one of them and the remaining one will be given to the one who finished his dinner first. Both are slow eaters. And I mean, very very slow. Of course, they bargained. Both assumed they will lose out.

So I said they can make an agreement to share the remaining mango pudding. This way, it doesn't matter who finish the dinner first. Both disagreed because they get to eat only half. They wanted the whole pudding! Both started debating with each other why the other one should give up his share. Very funny.

In the end, they had one pudding each.

I can't remember what happened but they quarrelled again later.

Ryan: I don't like Ian!
Ian: I also don't like you.
Me: Ok lor, I give Ian away. Exchange with gu gu (my sis). I will bring home Joycelyn.
Ryan: No.
Me: Then I exchange with xiao ah yee (my youngest sis-in-law), I will bring home Miki?
Ryan: No
Me: Ok. Then I exchange with ta yee (eldest sis-in-law), bring home Joel?
(Ryan's eyes popped up)
Ryan: ok ok.....

According to Ryan, Joel is his favourite cousin (out of 10).

On the way back from school yesterday, I told the boys (Joel,Jeremy, Ian and Timmy) that Ryan koko going to exchange Ian for Joel.
Joel's reaction: Hooray, when do i go and stay?
Ian's reaction: err..kept quiet (as i was driving i was not able to turn and look at his facial expression)
so i said "no lah, Ryan koko was just joking only."
Then Ian said :"yeah lor i also joking only."
Jeremy turn and look at me "Da yee, why er yee zhan did not say wants to exchange me?"
My reply was " I told you, er yee zhan was just joking only." Why you ask? Is it because you don't want your mummy to be your mummy?" He shake his head and keep quiet. Maybe the kids does not know the real meaning of exchanging.
